BINARY (from the Latin binarius - double), consisting of two parts or components. In physical chemistry, the following terms are used: binary electrolyte—consisting of two monovalent ions, for example: K•Cl′, Na•J′, Ag•NO3′; binary mixture—a mixture of two components, usually changing its properties depending on the quantitative ratio between both components; binary alloy—consisting of two metals.
