Faithfulness

We publish the encyclopedia as it was written. We do not correct the science, update statistics or remove views that are now considered wrong, because the value of the text is as a record of its time.

Additions

Everything we add is marked as ours and kept outside the translated text: the short summary at the top of an article, the “Modern term” note, topic labels, and links between articles.

Not medical advice

The encyclopedia describes medicine of the 1920s–30s. Some of its treatments are ineffective or dangerous by today's standards. Do not use it to make health decisions; consult a qualified professional and current sources.

Attribution and corrections

Each article lists its original authors. If you find a translation error or believe a page should not be published, please contact us.
