CRYPTOMERY (from the Greek kryptos—hidden); cryptomeric genes (see) are those that do not have an external phenotypic manifestation due to the presence of epistatic genes or due to the absence of certain other genes, in the presence of which the manifestation of cryptomeric factors occurs.
