ACHALUKI SPRINGS, a resort of local significance in Ingushetia, 25 km from Vladikavkaz, in a basin of the Sunzhensky Ridge, 380 m above sea level. The climate is favorable for a resort. There are 8 mineral springs, alkaline-salt and alkaline-Glauber's salt; t° from 23 to 39°; dry residue from 1.5 to 9.7 g per liter. Total yield up to 1,400,000 liters (up to 120,000 buckets per day). Mud volcanoes near the springs can yield up to 20,000 cubic meters of volcanic mud. The local population is treated by primitive methods. Construction of bathhouses has begun.
