DIPLOSOMIA (from the Greek diploos—double and soma—body), d i s o m i a, a term denoting all varieties of double monsters (see), where two sufficiently developed fetal bodies are found to be fused together in some location; this includes, for example, cases of iliopagus, thoracopagus, dicephalus, etc.
