Encyclopedia entry (1928–1936)

GERONTOPHILIA (from the Greek geron — old man and philia — love; syn. gerontophilism), a sexual perversion, a peculiar type of fetishism in which sexual desire is aroused not by a specific person, but by the age of a woman. Gerontophilia is love for old women, sometimes connected with sadism (occasionally homosexual love for old men). This perversion is very rare and has been described by Krafft-Ebing, Wagner, Bloch, and others.
