Goryachinsk, a balneological resort on the eastern shore of Lake Baikal, 146 km from the Tataurovo station of the Transbaikal Railway, along the Barguzin tract, in the Buryat-Mongol ASSR. Located in a mountainous forested area, separated from the lake shore by a forest (800 m) that protects it from cold winds. The climate is severe: average temperature in June 10.3°, July 15.1°, August 16.1°, September 9.6°. Average annual -0.8e. Mineral springs of the akratotherm type with a small content of CO2 and H2S. Temperature of the main spring 54.3°. Flow 23,370 liters per day. The resort is not well-equipped; there is a bathhouse with 30 baths and a hospital with 40 beds. The number of patients visiting the resort varies from 250 to 360 per season. Season from June 15 to September 15. Indications are the same as for thermal resorts. Transportation to the resort is by horse from Tataurovo station or by steamer from the Baikal station of the Transbaikal Railway - 110 km.
