HEMIPEPTONE, a hypothetical fraction of protein digestion products formed by pepsin, accepted by some authors. It is characterized not by chemical, but by purely biological differences, for example, by the fact that it is more easily subjected to further cleavage under the influence of trypsin than other fractions.
