Summary
Isambert's disease is an isolated tuberculous miliary lesion of the pharynx, which is a rarely encountered condition. While the pharyngeal lymphatic ring is frequently affected by tuberculosis, primary miliary tuberculosis limited strictly to the pharynx is extremely rare, with only a small number of historical cases documented.

ISAMBERT'S DISEASE (Isambert), an isolated tuberculous miliary lesion of the pharynx. It is a rarely encountered disease. The lymphatic ring of the pharynx is affected by tuberculosis much more often. Isambert, Frankel, and others collected a total of 19 cases of this disease. However, Guttmann and Lublinski dispute the primary nature of these cases.
