Ivan Fyodorovich Zelenov (1861–1918) was a prominent Russian syphilidologist and dermatologist, a graduate of the Military Medical Academy and a student of Polotebnov and Stukovenkov. He authored a classic dissertation on syphilitic and mercurial chloranemia and held professorships at the Kharkiv and Moscow medical faculties. Zelenov was the editor of the Russian Journal of Cutaneous and Venereal Diseases and founded the Kharkiv Dermatological Society.

ZELENOV, Ivan Fyodorovich (1861–1918), a prominent Russian syphilidologist and dermatologist, a graduate of the Military Medical Academy and a student of Polotebnov and Stukovenkov. In 1892 he defended the classic dissertation "On the Question of Syphilitic and Mercurial Chloranemia" (Kiev, 1892). In 1894 he became a military medical academy assistant professor, and from 1897 to 1910 he was a professor at the Kharkiv Medical Faculty, and from 1911 to 1916 a professor at the Medical Faculty of Moscow University. Editor-publisher of the "Russian Journal of Cutaneous and Venereal Diseases" (Kharkov, 1901–1917); founder of the Kharkov Dermatological Society and the All-Russian League for the Struggle against Venereal Diseases, etc. His name is associated with the doctrine of prurigo as a general disease, with the study of the influence of syphilitic infection on the composition of the blood, with the scientific development of mercurial therapy for syphilis, with the treatment of the latter with gallic acid and mercurous dibromide, with the doctrine of the "black" hard chancre, onychomycosis, etc.
