These unstable, easily oxidized compounds possess very weak basic properties and include various powerful chemical warfare agents such as lewisite.

Encyclopedia entry (1928–1936)

ARSINES, organic derivatives of arsine, AsH3. Depending on the number of substituted hydrogen atoms, a distinction is made between primary arsines RAsH2, secondary arsines R2AsH, and tertiary arsines R3As, where R is an organic radical. Arsines are unstable compounds that easily oxidize in air and possess extremely weak basic properties. Arsine derivatives (haloarsines) include many chemical warfare agents with strong toxic effects (lewisite and certain other substances).
