ASP, or the Egyptian cobra, Naia haie L., a venomous snake of the family Colubridae, lives in North and East Africa; it reaches a length of up to 2.25 m. Its bite is usually fatal to humans. This species of snake is used by conjurers in Egypt for "charming."
