GREEN HELLEBORE (American), Veratrum viride Aiton, a perennial plant up to 2 m in height. It grows in the USA, Canada, as well as in Asia, on the Amur River. It differs from Veratrum album by its narrower stem leaves, very frequently upward-curved branches of the inflorescence, and a less dense arrangement of green flowers. The rhizome is greenish-yellow on the outside. Its composition and application are identical to Veratrum album L. (see Veratrine).
