HEMIDIDYMIA (from the Greek hemi-half and didymos-doubled), a deformity belonging to the so-called double monstrosities (see) and consisting of the fact that the middle part of the embryo's body is doubled (double spinal cord, notochord, intestinal tube); hence the synonym—mesodidymia.
