Encyclopedia entry (1928–1936)
ROSOIDS (see Fig. 1). Gametocytes develop in the leukocytes of the rat (see Fig. 1). Ticks become infected by sucking the blood of infected rats. In the intestine of the ticks, 50-100 sporoblasts are formed, with 16 sporozoites in each.
