SPERMOLITH, spermolithus (from the Greek sperma—seed and lithos—stone), literally a seed stone. This name designates: 1) dense concretions, sometimes impregnated with calcareous salts, which are formed from semen stored in the seminal vesicles of animals; 2) seeds of certain plants covered with a hard shell (fruit pits).
