ACHROMATICUS (from the Greek a-, a negative particle, and chroma, color), blood parasites of the bats Vesperugo. At the present time, they are classified under the genus Babesia (see). Babesia vesperuginis (syn. Achromaticus vesperuginis) Dionisi, 1899, parasitizes the bats Vesperugo; the vector of the parasite is Pteropus vespertilionis.
