ANTEVERSION OF THE UTERUS (from the Latin ante—forward and vertere—to turn), a position of the uterus in which the latter is tilted forward and its longitudinal axis forms an angle of 70–100° with the vagina, open anteriorly. Anteversion of the uterus is the typical position of the uterus.
