Fibromyomas are mixed, mature tumors composed of connective and smooth muscle tissue elements. They are primarily observed in organs containing smooth muscle, such as the uterus, esophagus, and gastrointestinal tract, and often appear to develop from leiomyomas.

FIBROMYOMAS (fibromyoma), mixed mature tumors consisting of elements of connective and muscular (usually smooth muscle) tissue. They are observed primarily in organs possessing smooth musculature (uterus, esophagus, gastrointestinal tract, etc.). A significant portion of fibromyomas apparently develops from myomas (leiomyomas).
