BITUMOL, a preparation similar in its composition to ichthyol (with approximately the same sulfur content). It is obtained from German bituminous shales. It is produced in the form of "bitumol oil" and "bitumol ointment" (10–50%). It is used in the same manner as ichthyol (see).
