Deuteroalbumoses
Historical document, translated for reference. It reflects medical knowledge of the 1920s–30s and is not medical advice.
Summary
This 1930s encyclopedia article describes deuteroalbumoses A, B, and C as fractions of secondary albumoses that remain in solution during semi-saturation with ammonium sulfate. It details the specific precipitation conditions for each fraction using varying degrees of salt saturation and acidification.
Encyclopedia entry (1928–1936)
DEUTEROALBUMOSES A, B, and C (see Albumoses) constitute a fraction of the so-called secondary albumoses. They remain in solution upon semi-saturation with ammonium sulfate. Deuteroalbumose A precipitates at 2/3 saturation, further addition of this salt causes the precipitation of deuteroalbumose B, whereas deuteroalbumose C precipitates only upon acidification of the solution saturated with ammonium sulfate.
