Summary

Dupré disease is a term proposed by de Fleury for the symptom complex of 'emotive psychoneurosis' described by Dupré. It develops on the basis of an emotive constitution closely related to constitutional nervousness, and Dupré is also noted for his classic description of mythomania or pathological lying.

Encyclopedia entry (1928–1936)

DUPRÉ DISEASE (Dupré), a name given at the suggestion of de Fleury to the symptom complex of "emotive psychoneurosis" described by Dupré. This symptom complex, observed by Dupré most frequently in wartime material, develops on the basis of the emotive constitution described by him, which is closely related to the constitutional nervousness of German authors. To Dupré also belongs the brilliant description of the symptom complex of mythomania (pathological lying).
