GENODERMATOSES, changes in the skin and its appendages caused by abnormalities in hereditary germs (Meirowsky), in other words, dermatoses in the occurrence of which a germ-plasma predisposition plays a decisive role. A significant number of skin alterations belong to the genodermatoses: various kinds of nevi, xeroderma pigmentosum, hereditary epidermolysis bullosa, certain types of palmar and plantar keratodermas, ichthyosis, and many others.
