MIKULICZ'S OINTMENT (Unguentum Mikulicz) has the following composition: prescription No. 1: Arg. nitr. 0.3, Bals. peruviani 3.0, Vaselini 30.0; prescription No. 2: Arg. nitr. 1.0, Bals. peruviani 5.0, Vaselini 30.0. The action of the ointment is antiseptic, astringent, and mildly irritating due to the presence of silver nitrate and Peru balsam; it is used for poorly (sluggishly) granulating wounds, leg ulcers, gangrenous skin lesions, and the like.
