AMYLOFORM, Amyloform, a product of the condensation of formaldehyde with starch, is a water-insoluble powder. Upon contact with tissues, formaldehyde is released. The preparation is completely non-toxic. It is used per se as a dusting powder for wounds, for deodorization and to reduce discharge, and with talc (50%) against rhinitis.
