ANILINBLAU (syn.: Rosanilinblau, Anilin-blau spiritloslich. and others), phenyl-rosaniline, a water-insoluble, alcohol-soluble blue aniline dye. In microtechnique, preparations of A. that are soluble not in alcohol but in water are mainly used, which are obtained by sulfuration of A. and sold under various names as Na-, NH4- or Ca-salts (Alkaliblau, Wasserblau, Methyl-blau, Chinablau, Bleu de Lyon). Water-soluble preparations of A. are used for staining cell plasma. In combination with acid fuchsin (see) and orange (see), A. is used in Mallory's method (see).
