BALZER BATHS (bains terebinthines de Balzer), baths with an admixture of turpentine, proposed by Balzer and long used with great success in England against chronic rheumatism. Balzer points out that these baths also provide substantial benefit in gonorrheal arthritis. Their prescription is as follows: Emulsio aquosa saponis kalini venalis, Ol. Terebinthinae aa 100.0 per bath. The dose of the mixture can be increased up to 300–400 g per bath.
