SANARTRIT, an extract from animal cartilage, is a transparent, yellowish, colloidal liquid for intravenous infusions. It was alleged to have a specific effect on joint cartilage affected by rheumatism. It was used for chronic and deforming arthritis, articular rheumatism, sciatica, and the like. A total of 5 injections of 1 cm3 each are administered. The preparation has not gained widespread use.
