Belostotskiy, Ivan Stepanovich, revolutionary worker, major organizer of healthcare; born in 1882 in a peasant family. Received education in a two-year ministry school. From 1897 he began working as a turner. Belostotskiy's revolutionary activity began in 1904; he was arrested several times—in 1904, 1905, 1907, and 1912. Between arrests he worked at various enterprises, starting from the Putilov and Bezhitsky plants and ending with mines and quarries. In 1911 he was sent by the party organization to Paris, where he studied under the leadership of V. I. Lenin, N. K. Krupskaya, A. I. Rykov, N. A. Semashko, A. V. Lunacharsky and other Marxist theorists. Upon returning to Russia, he devoted himself entirely to the revolutionary struggle; in 1913 he was arrested for distributing the newspaper "Pravda" and exiled to a remote village on the Pechora River for three years. Before the October Revolution, Belostotskiy worked in trade unions and insurance funds. The October Revolution promoted Belostotskiy to the ranks of major organizers of healthcare: from March 1917 to November 1918, Belostotskiy worked in Lysev, Perm province, as chairman of the insurance fund, then in Vyatka as a member of the board of the social security and labor protection department (1919), and finally as head of the healthcare department of the Yekaterinburg province (1919-20). Since early 1924, Belostotskiy has been at the head of the Regional Department of Healthcare of the Ural region and is a member of the Regional Executive Committee.
