HOLOPON, Holopon, an extract of opium containing only the crystallizable active components of opium. Holopon is a transparent, golden-colored liquid, 1 cubic centimeter of which corresponds to 0.1 of opium or 0.01 of morphine. It is used as a substitute for opium and morphine—orally, subcutaneously, and intramuscularly. It is dosed according to opium or morphine content.
