Iordan, Arthur Pavlovich (born in 1866), professor of dermatology and venereology at the Second Moscow State University. Graduated from the medical faculty of the University of Dorpat, where he defended his dissertation "Uber die Wir-kungsweise zweier Derivate des Guanidins" (Dorpat, 1892). Received specialized education in the clinics of Berlin and Vienna under the guidance of G. Levin, Lassar, Kaposi, and Neumann. Began his medical practice in 1894 in Moscow, at Myasnitskaya and then in the 1st and 2nd city hospitals. Since 1914, Iordan was a senior assistant, and since 1925, director of the skin clinic of the former Higher Women's Medical Courses, now the Second Moscow State University. Iordan is a corresponding member of the Berlin Dermatological Society, chairman of the Moscow Venereal and Dermatological Society, and co-editor of several medical publications. He has about a hundred scientific works, of which the most important are: "Pregnancy and Skin" (Gynecology and Obstetrics, 1923, No. 6); "Eczema" (M.-L., 1928); "Syphilis u. Ehe" (Dermatol. Wochen-schrift, Vol. LXXII, 1921); "Psoriasis vulgaris mucosae oris" (Archiv fur Dermatologie u. Syphilis, Vol. CXL, 1922).
