Summary

Ultramarine is a blue mineral pigment insoluble in water and alcohol. In histological technique, it is used to prepare a blue injection mass for blood vessels, consisting of 30 grams of pigment per 100 cubic centimeters of a 10% gelatin solution.

ULTRAMARINE, a blue mineral pigment insoluble in water and alcohol (for the method of preparation, see Paints, occupational hazards of paint production). In histological technique, it is used to prepare a blue injection mass for blood vessels—30 g of pigment per 100 cm3 of a 10% gelatin solution; the pigment does not pass through the capillaries.
