Summary
Autonephrectomy is a rare form of renal tuberculosis characterized by a closed tuberculous pyonephrosis resulting from the occlusion of the ureter lumen due to scarring of tuberculous ulcers. Such cases simulate spontaneous healing of kidney tuberculosis, which does not actually occur, and diagnosis is extremely difficult, usually made only on the operating table.
