BILIARY, biliaris (from Latin bilis—bile), relating to bile, connected with bile; for example: biliary cirrhosis of the liver, i.e., cirrhosis of the liver that has developed as a consequence of irregularities in the function of the bile ducts; biliary liver abscesses, i.e., abscesses forming from the bile ducts; biliary stones (calculi biliares), i.e., gallstones.
