Summary
Galacturia is the excretion of milk-like urine resembling an emulsion, composed of finely divided fat droplets. It occurs in certain forms of kidney and bladder inflammation, after bone fractures involving fat embolism, and in parasitic infections of the lymphatic pathways, notably as tropical chyluria caused by Filaria sanguinis.

GALACTURIA (from the Greek gala - milk and ouron - urine), synonym chyluria, the excretion of milk-like urine resembling an emulsion and consisting of finely divided fat droplets. It occurs in certain forms of inflammation of the kidneys and urinary bladder, as well as after bone fractures, in fat embolism, and so on. Galacturia has also been described in the presence of parasites in the lymphatic pathways. A special type is "tropical chyluria," caused by Filaria sanguinis.
