Many of them contain detailed descriptions and research on the pathogenesis of a number of important symptom complexes, performed for the first time by M. Acromegaly (1886), osteo-arthropathie hypertrophique pneumique (1890) and hereditary cerebellar ataxia (1893) entered the literature, especially French, under the name of Marie's diseases. The most important works of M., besides his dissertation ('Contribution à l'étude et au diagnostic des formes frustes de la maladie de Basedow', thesis, P., 1883), are collected in the book: P. Since 1911, M. has been a member of the French Academy of Medicine. M. is the founder and honorary member of the Society of Neurologists in Paris.
