Vasily Konstantinovich Khoroshko (born in 1881), a well-known contemporary neuropathologist, a representative of the Moscow school of neurologists and psychiatrists. Graduated from the medical faculty of Moscow University in 1904. Until 1911, he worked in the clinic of nervous diseases at 1st Moscow State University as an ordinador and assistant; left the university in 1911 in protest against the actions of Kasso and returned there as a privat-docent in 1916. In 1912, he defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Medicine on the topic "The reaction of the animal organism to the introduction of nervous tissue" (M.). From 1912 to 1923, he headed the laboratory, served as assistant, and taught psychiatry and psychology at the Higher Women's Courses and at 2nd Moscow State University. From 1915 to 1920, he headed the nervous department of the Traumatological Institute. Since 1920, he has been heading the neurological clinic at GIFO, conducting courses for doctors on physiotherapy of nervous diseases; since 1929, he has been directing scientific work at the Scientific Research Laboratory of Experimental Therapy; director of the clinic for nervous diseases of the medical institute (Moscow). He has 136 scientific works on various issues of clinical and social neurology, psychiatry, psychology, history and methodology of medicine. The most important of his works, besides the aforementioned dissertation: "Clinical form of Prof. Kozhevnikov-Epilepsia partialis contimua" (M., 1906), a series of works (10) on the clinic of frontal lobes, diseases of the peripheral nervous apparatus and the autonomic nervous system, physiotherapy of the nervous system, a series of works on social neurology, socio-psychological nature ("Suicide of children"), on the section of history and methodology of medicine, etc. For many years, he was a member of the presidium of the Society of Neurologists and Psychiatrists; member of the scientific council of NKZdr.; editor and member of the editorial board of a number of journals and collections, co-editor of the neuropsychiatric department of the Great Medical Encyclopedia, member of Varnitsa.
