ASPHALT VARNISH, a solution of asphalt in a mixture of linseed oil and turpentine (450 g of asphalt, 250 g of linseed oil, 1,000 cc of turpentine, or respectively 115 g, 120 g, and 280 cc). Asphalt varnish serves for ringing the coverslip in cases where the object is mounted in glycerin, paraffin oil, and other non-drying or evaporating media.
