Miskhor, a coastal climatic station on the southern coast of Crimea, 12 km west of Yalta and 2-3 km from Alupka. The resort section of M. occupies a coastal strip about 7 km long, along which among dense parks, gardens, and vineyards with diverse vegetation are located in large numbers sanatoriums, pansionats, and rest homes in palaces and former private estates. From northern winds M. is protected by mountains (Yayla with the peak Ai-Petri). The climate of M. is maritime, warm, moderately humid. Air temperature: in January +3.8°, February +4.9°, March +6.2°, April +10.6°, May +16.2°, June +20.9°, July +24.2°, August +23.9°, September +19.1°, October +14.2°, November +9.1°, December +6.3°. Average annual temperature +13.2°. Relative humidity (average for the year) 68%. On the shore there is a small narrow beach, covered with fine gravel. Sea bathing continues from 15/V to 15/X. Grape season from 15/VIII to 15/X. In addition to sanatoriums and pansionats, M. has a polyclinic, bathhouse building, medical beach with facilities for sun and air baths, physical therapy and X-ray office, dining room, kurzal, exercise grounds, etc. As a climatic station, M. functions year-round. Indications are general for southern maritime resorts. Above the resort section of M. is the village of Koreiz, where public and administrative institutions are concentrated: village soviet, cooperative, club, post office and telegraph. Here are also located the sanatorium 'Gaspra', the sanatorium named after Dzerzhinsky, and others.
