Neurotization is the process by which newly formed axons grow from the central end of a damaged nerve, through the scar tissue, and along the entire length of the peripheral nerve segment to reach its terminal apparatuses. NEUROTIZATION, the process of the outgrowth of newly formed axons from the central end of a damaged nerve through the scar and further along the entire length of the peripheral segment of the nerve, up to and including its terminal apparatuses (see also Nerve fibers—regeneration).
