Pierre Nobecourt (Pierre Andre Alexandre Nobecourt; born 1871), a prominent French pediatrician, professor of the pediatric clinic at the Paris Faculty of Medicine from 1920, member of the Medical Academy from 1923, physician at Hôpital des Enfants malades; editor of several periodicals; member of the Paris Society of Pediatricians; member of French and international pediatric associations; vice-president of the society dealing with new French nurseries; vice-president of the Higher Council for Child Protection. N. authored a large number of printed works, including a guide to the social hygiene of childhood ("Hygiene sociale de l'enfance", together with G. Schreider, Paris, 1921; Russian editions - Kharkov, 1925, Moscow, 1926), a six-volume course on the clinic of childhood diseases ("Clinique medicale des enfants", v. I-VI, Paris, 1925-29) and a widely used textbook ("Precis de medicine des enfants", 5th ed., Paris, 1925; Russian edition - Moscow-Leningrad, 1928).
