Robert Meyer (born 1864), a renowned pathologist specializing in the pathological histology of the female reproductive system and considered the leading authority in this field; he heads the pathological-anatomical institute at the Berlin University obstetrics and gynecology clinic and edits the journal 'Archiv fur Gynakologie'. Numerous works by Meyer cover almost all areas of gynecological pathology and physiology; particularly important are his works on the anatomy and development of the corpus luteum of the ovary ('Beitrage zur Lehre von der normalen u. krankhaften Ovulation', Arch. f.
