Valentin Vladislavovich Gorinevsky (born 1857) was one of the first Russian scientists in the field of physical development and education. He served as the first dean of the medical faculty at Samara University and later organized a department for scientific control of physical development at the State Central Institute of Physical Culture.

Gorinevsky, Valentin Vladislavovich (born in 1857), one of the first in Russia scientists on questions of physical development and education. Gorinevsky received higher medical education abroad and at the Military Medical Academy, which he graduated from in 1887, he worked in a children's hospital and taught hygiene in secondary educational institutions of Petersburg. After the October Revolution, G. was the first dean of the medical faculty of Samara University and gave lectures on hygiene (general and social), biology and physiology. From 1923 in the State Central Institute of Physical Culture of Narkomzdrav he organizes a department for scientific control over physical development. G. is also a professor at 2nd Moscow State University on hygiene of preschool age and physical culture at the pedagogical faculty. With the organization of the Higher Council of Physical Culture, G. is a member of the presidium of the Scientific-Technical Committee. -The most important works of G.: "On hardening as a means of education" (St. Petersburg, 1900); "Physical education" (St. Petersburg, 1913); "Body culture" (Moscow, 1927) and a number of others. In addition, G. belongs to over 50 scientific and popular articles on issues of physical education and development.
