MENTON, a seaside climatic station on the French Riviera on the Mediterranean coast; one of the best winter resorts with a rich southern vegetation, protected from the north, east, and west by the Alps. Mild, steady marine climate with a small number of rainy days. Average temperature in November is +15°, in December +11.5°, in January +10.5°, in February +12°, and in March +14°. The winter season is from October 15 to the end of May. Sea bathing from May to the end of October. Indications: tuberculosis and other diseases of the respiratory organs, anemia, neurasthenia, overwork, after-cure (Nachkur) following illnesses and surgeries, etc.
