NERVI (Nervi), a coastal climatic station (a small town) in Italy, on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea, 9 km from Genoa on the Riviera di Levante coast. N. is protected from cold northern winds by the offshoots of the Apennines (Monte Moro and Monte Giugo). The climate is warm, mild, and moderately humid. Subtropical vegetation (palms, oranges, and lemons). The resort operates year-round, but is mainly used as a winter climatic station from November to April. Average temperature of the winter season +10.7°C, November +12°C, December +9.2°C, January +8.7°C, February +9.6°C, March +11.3°C, and April +13.6°C. Indications: tuberculosis of the lungs and larynx, catarrhs of the upper respiratory tract, bronchial asthma, anemia, overwork, etc. Patients are accommodated in hotels and boarding houses. A sanatorium has been opened for more seriously ill patients. The resort has a park with sports grounds, a Kursaal, etc. Excursions to the picturesque nearby surroundings, which have many historical monuments, are of great interest. Communication with Genoa is available via the Genoa-Pisa railway line and tram.
