NALCHIK, climate, station in the Kabardino-Balkar Autonomous Region near the railway station of Nalchik of the North Caucasus Railway, at an altitude of 510 m above sea level. The actual health resort is Dolinskoye, 3.5 km from N. Climate data is determined by the proximity of the main Caucasus ridge. Summer is warm, moderately humid. Relative humidity fluctuates from 70% to 75%. From May to September, more than 400 mm of precipitation falls with 56 rainy days. The most precipitation falls most frequently in May and June. The driest month is September. In summer, during the second half of the day, southern winds blow from the snowy mountains and glaciers, which ventilate the sanatorium area well. Patients are accommodated in sanatoriums, boarding houses, and private apartments. There is a polyclinic, physiotherapy, and other special offices. Season from May 15 to November 15. Indications: exhausted and anemic asthenics and convalescents; tuberculosis of lymphatic and bronchial glands in adults; compensated tuberculosis of the lungs and subcompensated forms of stages I and II; remnants and consequences of tuberculous pleurisy; bronchitis of professional-dust origin; emphysema with chronic bronchitis or without it, but with sufficient cardiovascular system.
