KÜTTNER Hermann (Hermann Küttner, born in 1870), surgeon, professor at the University of Breslau (Germany), a student of Bruns. Author of numerous works in various fields of surgery: a series of works on field surgery mainly pertains to the beginning of his medical career (K. participated in the South African and Greco-Turkish wars). Küttner's classical works on the study of the lymphatic system are known to wide circles of anatomists and surgeons. In other works, Küttner addressed pressing issues of vascular surgery in both military and peaceful conditions, aneurysms and mainly cancer of the mammary gland, penis ('Uber das Penis-karzi-nome u. seine Verbreitung auf dem Lymph-wege', Beitr. zur klinischen Chirurgie, Band XXVI, 1900), surgery of the abdominal and thoracic cavities, the nervous system, plastic surgery, issues of anesthesia, etc. Küttner's works on the surgery of striated muscle ['Chirurgie der quergestreiften Muskula-tur' (together with F. Landois, Stuttgart, 1913)] and cancer of the rectum ['Bericht iiber 800 (1.021) Rektumkarzinome', Munch, medi-zin. Wochenschrift, 1920, № 28] deserve great attention. The total number of Küttner's works exceeds 100. Küttner is editor and contributor to a number of major collective guides on surgery (Deutsche Chirurgie, Neue Deutsche Chirurgie, Handbuch der praktischen Chirurgie) and several periodicals (Ergebnisse der Chirurgie, Bruns Beitrage zur klinischsn Chirurgie). From Küttner's school came such famous surgeons as Melchior, Tsennen, Weil, and others.
